Passengers of Tejas Express may get compensation for delayed train; details here

Tejas Express, also known as India’s first private train to run between Delhi and Lucknow, was recently running late by three hours as it was stopped at Amausi. The reason for the delay is said to be a power line breakdown. Apart from Tejas, the incident also affected 47 more trains plying on more similar routes. Also, later, the Tejas had to be operated using a diesel engine due to delays in rectifying the problem with the power lines.

Based on the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) rules, all delayed trains have to compensate passengers, and similarly, Tejas, which was recently delayed, has to compensate passengers for their lost time. Will have to compensate.

The passengers will soon be informed about the compensation through a link which they will receive through their respective email or SMS. Passengers will be able to get their compensation amount using this link. All they have to do is open the said link and fill the required details like PNR number, account details, IFSC code and other required details. After you have provided the required details, if you are eligible to receive compensation from the organization, the amount will later be credited to your bank account.

Under the policy of Tejas Express, passengers are eligible for a compensation of Rs 100 for running late by one hour. The amount increases proportionately with the delay, for example, if the train is late by three hours, you will be paid a compensation of Rs 250. Apart from this, passengers of Tejas Express are also eligible to get up to Rs. 25 lakhs in travel insurance. In case of theft or dacoity during the journey, the express passenger will get Rs. 1 Lac.
