Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will embark on a week-long visit to Japan on Monday to attract investment in various sectors for the eastern state, officials said.

Sources said that during the visit, Patnaik is likely to attend programs in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka and return on April 9.

“We are hopeful of wooing Japanese investors as they are well-acquainted with Odisha. State Industries and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Pratap Keshari Deb said, apart from a stable government, we have vast natural resources and business-friendly policies.

Officials said Odisha would seek Japanese investment in sectors such as tourism, food processing, auto components, electronics, chemicals and petrochemicals, mining, metals and information technology.

Japan had earlier partnered with the state during ‘Make in Odisha’ conclaves in 2018 and 2022.
