Paul Pogba out of Barcelona friendly due to knee injury

Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has been ruled out of Tuesday’s friendly against Barcelona in Dallas, Texas, the Serie A club said on Monday.

“After complaining of pain in his right knee, Paul Pogba underwent a radiological examination, which revealed a lateral meniscus lesion,” the club said in a statement.

The Turin-based club has not yet disclosed an estimated recovery time, but said the 29-year-old will see a specialist and undergo treatment.

“In the next few hours he will undergo a specialist orthopedic consultation. Therefore, in order to continue treatment, he is not participating in the trip to Dallas,” the club said.

After six seasons at Manchester United, Pogba – the French international, returned to the club as a free agent and now with an injury, he could miss the start of the Serie A season.

According to reports, he later became paralyzed during a training session, which prompted Juve to conduct a medical check-up on him.
