KYV: US Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosic He has met the President of Ukraine during his visit to the country’s troubled capital Kyiv.
Pelosi, third in line for the presidency, is the highest-ranking US leader to visit Ukraine since the start of the war, and her visit is a prominent display of continued support for the country’s struggle against Russia.
Footage released by President Volodymyr Zelensky’s office early Sunday showed Pelosi in Kyiv with a congressional delegation that included Representatives Jason Crowe, Jim McGovern and Adam Schiff.
“You are all welcome,” Zelensky told the delegation.
Pelosi told Zelensky: “We believe that we have come to visit you to say thank you for your fight for freedom.”
“We are at the border of freedom and your fight is a fight for all. Our commitment is to be with you until the fight is over,” Pelosi said.
