Several National Eligibility cum Entrance Test-Graduate (NEET-UG) candidates on Wednesday moved the Delhi High Court, seeking postponement of the examination for the year 2022, which was scheduled to be held on July 17.

The petitioners’ counsel said the petition was mentioned before a bench of Chief Justice Satish Chandra Sharma and Justice Subramaniam Prasad, which allowed it to be listed for hearing on Thursday.

The petitioners demanded that the ‘NEET-UG Phase 2’ be conducted after considering the “large distance” at which certain exam centers are located for some candidates, when the nation is facing the “existing dire situation due to floods”. Used to be.

The petition states that many examination centers are between 150 and 300 km for thousands of students. It also sought setting up of a grievance redressal mechanism for redressal of all grievances and grievances raised in connection with the examination in a time bound manner.

The petitioners sought the issuance of a fresh notification for rescheduling the examination date after the authorities addressed their grievances, apart from seeking cancellation of the prescribed entrance examination for undergraduate medical and dental courses.

“This Court may be pleased to issue any writ/direction in the nature of certiorari or mandamus directing the respondents to set aside the examination schedule of NEET-UG 2022 examination by July 17, 2022, as mentioned in the notification dated April 6. 2022, issued by respondent no. 1/National Testing Agency,” he said in his plea.

The petition states, “A fresh notification for rescheduling the date of NEET-UG 2022 examination to be issued to the respondents after considering the grievances raised by the petitioners through written representations on May 12, 2022 and July 8, 2022.” instruct to do so.”
