Petrol and diesel price in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai as on September 1 – Times of India

Petrol and diesel prices have been left untouched by oil marketing companies again on September 1 after more than three months. On May 21, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced reduction of excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 8 per liter and Rs 6 per liter respectively. Since then, there has been no change in the fuel prices by the oil marketing companies.
However, the Maharashtra government and the Meghalaya government have changed the fuel prices in the last 2 months. The Maharashtra government on July 15 announced a reduction of Value Added Tax (VAT) by Rs 5 per liter on petrol and Rs 3 per liter on diesel. Meghalaya has increased the prices of petrol and diesel on August 24. Petrol price in Shillong is Rs 96.83 per litre, while diesel costs Rs 84.72 per litre.
According to the latest notification issued by oil marketing companies like Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), the price of petrol in Delhi is stable at Rs 96.72 per liter and diesel at Rs. 89.62 per liter. Petrol in Mumbai today costs Rs 106.35 per liter and diesel is priced at Rs 94.28 per liter.
