Petrol and diesel price in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad on August 24 – Times of India

Petrol and diesel prices remain unchanged for 3 months now as on 24th August. On May 21, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a cut in excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per liter and on diesel by Rs 6 per liter. After that, the Maharashtra government announced a reduction in Value Added Tax (VAT) on petrol and diesel by Rs 5 per liter and Rs 3 per liter respectively. The reduction in VAT will cost the state exchequer Rs 6,000 crore annually.
Today the price of petrol in Delhi is Rs 96.72 per liter, while the price of diesel is Rs 89.62 per litre. Petrol in Mumbai costs Rs 106.31 per liter, while diesel costs Rs 94.27 per liter in Mumbai.

On Wednesday morning, crude oil prices saw a decline in comparison to the previous trading session. According to Reuters, Brent crude futures were trading 21 cents down at $100.01 a barrel, while WTI crude was down 10 cents at $93.64 a barrel.
