Delhi News: The Delhi Development Authority on Wednesday approved a proposal to set up electric vehicle (EV) charging facility at petrol or diesel pumps and CNG stations at low license fee to curb air pollution in the city.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the urban body chaired by Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, who also approved several other major proposals, including relaxation in norms for DDA flats by members of the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) of the society.

The LG, who is also the chairman of the DDA, tweeted about the decision taken during the meeting, which was attended by the vice-chairman of the urban body and other members.

The allotment of land for religious purposes has been made “transparent”, the LG tweeted, adding, “he has directed the DDA to ensure pending conversion of properties from leasehold to freehold within two months”.

“To promote green fuel and fight the menace of air pollution, the Authority has today approved setting up of Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Stations at DDA’s already allotted sites for Petrol/Diesel Pumps and CNG Stations. Lower license fee for these fueling sites/stations,” the DDA said in a statement.

The license fee per year for such sites of 1,080 sqm size for the financial year 2022-23 will be Rs 53,00,475 for petrol or diesel pump alone and Rs 46,11,413 for CNG alone.

The DDA said it would be Rs 47,70,428 for CNG and petrol or diesel pumps and Rs 43,46,390 for CNG plus EV sites.

As far as CNG with petrol pump and EV facility site is concerned, the annual license fee will be Rs 45,05,404; Rs 50,35,451 for a petrol pump with an EV facility; And for a gas godown, it will be Rs 6,36,057.

On relaxation in case of personal income determined under EWS category, the DDA said, in line with Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Housing for All’, it has now decided to make allotment of houses under EWS category more accessible and easy .

“For the convenience of applicants for DDA flats under the EWS category, the authority has approved the dispensation of the requirement of annual personal income of less than Rs 3 lakh for applicants/allottees,” the statement said.

It said that EWS flats will now be allotted on the basis of family annual income less than Rs 10 lakh per annum, as certified by a competent authority or authority.

To ensure transparency and efficiency in disposal of ‘religious category’ plots, the DDA has approved “disposal in auction mode by allotment of such plots”. The DDA said that the decision in this matter is pending since 2014.
