Phase four, over 10 lakh students, few hiccups – How CUET has fared so far

New Delhi: Over 10 lakh students have written the Common Undergraduate Entrance Test or CUET, which has so far been conducted in four phases, with two more to be held.

In a tweet on Monday, University Grants Commission chairman Mamidala Jagadesh Kumar said that the phase 5 of the examination was on and the admit cards for phase 6 (24, 25, 26 August) were issued on August 21.

Around 2.36 lakh students have registered for Phase 5 between August 21 and 23.

It got off to a good start on Sunday and 77,156 candidates registered in two slots. The second day on 22nd August was also scheduled in two slots for 79,459 candidates in 347 exam centers across 234 cities. Phase 5 is ending on 23 August 2022 (Tuesday).

In both the slots on Monday, Uttar Pradesh had the highest number of candidates with 36,036 in 91 exam centers and 11,252 in 22 centres.

The National Testing Agency has conducted the exam from July 15 at 489 centers in 259 cities across India and 10 cities outside the country.

The examination, which is supposed to be the common test for undergraduate admissions in central universities across the country, has been plagued by technical and logistical glitches from day one.
