After the court’s decision in the drug case, the crying pictures of Gauri Khan are becoming viral on social media. Saddened by the rejection of bail, Gauri was seen covering her face. A Metropolitan Magistrate’s court had on October 08, 2021 rejected the bail applications of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan and two others in a case related to the alleged seizure of narcotic drugs from a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast. Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate RM Nerlikar said the petitions filed by Aryan (23), Munmun Dhamecha and Arbaaz Merchant were not maintainable. The Narcotics Control Bureau on Sunday arrested the trio along with a few others after a raid on a Goa-bound cruise ship. On Thursday, the court had rejected the NCB’s request for further custody of Aryan and seven others and instead sent them to 14-day judicial custody. Incidentally, the court order rejecting Aryan’s bail has come on the 51st birthday of his mother Gauri Khan. During the hearing, Additional Solicitor General (ASG) Anil Singh, appearing for the NCB, opposed the bail applications arguing that a magistrate has no jurisdiction to hear these applications. Referring to several previous judgments, he said that all cases under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act should be heard by a special court. Singh also argued that it could not be a coincidence that all the accused were found at one place, and alleged that they were regular drug users. The ASG said that if released on bail, Khan may tamper with the evidence as he hails from an influential family. Singh claimed that the WhatsApp chat between Aryan Khan and co-accused Anchit Kumar was not about “football” but about “bulk quantity”. Khan’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde had earlier claimed that the chat was about football. The court, after hearing the arguments, dismissed the bail applications saying they were not maintainable. The detailed order was expected later. Acting on a tip-off that a party was to be held on board, a team of NCB raided the Goa bound Cordelia cruise on Saturday evening and claimed to have recovered the drugs. A total of 18 people have been arrested in the case. The court also remanded Nigerian national Chinedu Igwe, the latest person arrested on Friday, to the NCB’s custody till October 11.
