Six pirates reportedly entered the ship on the night of 5 September and shot two crew members who have now undergone surgery. Another crew member is missing as he was allegedly thrown into the sea by pirates. The pirates boarded an all-India crew ship at Owenda Anchorage, a port city in Gabon, at around 1.30 am. The crew has appealed to the Indian government to help them return to India safely.
