Pawan Sherawat during raid against Dabang Delhi KC in PKL 2021-22

Riding on a scintillating performance by Pawan Sehrawat, Bengaluru Bulls beat Dabang Delhi KC 61-22 in Match No 50 of Pro Kabaddi League Season 8 at The Sheraton Grand, Whitefield, Bengaluru. Sehrawat scored an excellent 27 points from 27 raids as the Bulls launched a riot against the Delhi side missing Naveen Kumar.

The 39-point win was the second biggest win in the history of PKL and helped the Bulls rise to the top of the points table. The lack of a secondary raider hurt Dabang Delhi KC, who suffered their second defeat of the season. The nature of the loss would also hurt Delhi, whose score was cut to a margin of -4 due to a major defeat.

There was no room for Ajay Thakur to start at 7 in Delhi despite the absence of Naveen Kumar, who along with Vijay and Neeraj Narwal took charge of the raid. Delhi looked toothless in the attack without Naveen Express but their defense managed to limit Pawan Sehrawat’s time on the mat in the opening minutes.

But once the Bulls’ defenders put their action together, there was no stopping their charge. Pawan Sehrawat’s raid point and Saurabh Nandal’s tackle helped the Bulls register their first all out with 4 minutes to go.

Ajay Thakur was brought on the mat after Neeraj Narwal suffered a head injury, but that didn’t change Delhi’s fortunes. Pawan’s scintillating innings in the final moments of the half gave the Bulls another all out. In the first half, Bengaluru ended 27-11 with a big lead.

The second half belonged entirely to the Bulls, who picked up point after point from an unknown defense from Delhi. Bengaluru scored their third all out in the 6th minute of the half and followed it up with another in the 11th minute to take a 33-point lead.

The lack of Delhi’s Plan B was exposed in Naveen Kumar’s absence as the experienced players looked to each other for answers.

Pawan Sehrawat crossed 20 raid points with 9 minutes to go as Bulls crossed the 50 mark. The bulls scored another all out as they went on to an incredible 40-point lead with 2 minutes of play.

The Bulls’ defenders witnessed the final raid which helped them rise to the top of the points table.
