Raiders Sachin and Guman Singh helped Patna Pirates beat table-toppers Patna Pirates 47-36 in Match 103 of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 8.

Sachin (16 points) and Guman Singh (11 points) were in top form for the three-time champions as they consolidated their position at the top of the points table with comfortable wins.

U Mumba’s Abhishek Singh (13 points) and Ajith Kumar (11 points) achieved Super 10s, but the team, especially captain Fazal Atrachali, struggled to provide support from the defence.

The high-scoring first half was from Patna Pirates despite a mini-fightback by Mumbai.

The Patna raiding trio of Guman Singh, Sachin and Prashant Rai got off to a positive start and gave them an early lead.

But Abhishek Singh’s 3-point super raid helped Mumbai overcome the pressure of an early all out.

Patna were relentless in their pursuit and eventually took a massive 9-point lead to bag the first all out in the 9th minute.

Mumbai then showed great spirit to fight back. Ajith Kumar’s 2-point raid after all out gave him the momentum to attack.

Abhishek also contributed as he got his first all out from 5 minutes to half time.

This took Patna’s lead to 2 but their raider Sachin once again got a super raid of 5 points to tilt the balance of the match.

The raider secured his Super 10 in the process and Patna secured another All Out with 2 minutes to spare.

The score was 26-18 at the interval and both sides looked hungry for more. Mumbai had the advantage at the start of the first half, but the Patna raiders ensured that they blocked the all out.

After this, Monu got a super raid of 3 points for Patna and gave momentum to his team.

U Mumba made 2 super tackles on Sachin but that was not enough to prevent another all out.

The Pirates maintained a 10-point lead with 10 minutes on the clock. Abhishek Singh got his Super 10, but Patna’s defense stepped in as the likes of Sajin C. and Mohammadreza Shardaloi.

Guman Singh also picked up his Super 10 as Patna ensured that they had a healthy 11-point lead with 5 minutes remaining.

Ajit Kumar picked up points in successive raids for U Mumba as they tried to reduce the lead to less than 7 points.

He also got his Super 10 as Mumbai tried their best to fight back.

But Patna was in no mood to give Mumbai easy points in their attempt to make the playoffs.

Sachin scored a super raid of 3 points in the final leg of the match to ensure that Mumbai could not take any points from the encounter.
