Bengaluru Bulls registered their third win of the season by defeating Tamil Thalaivas 45-28 in front of a packed crowd at the Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium on Wednesday.
With this win, Bengaluru Bulls have moved up to the third position in the points table. Bharat (12 points), Vikas Kandola (7 points) and Neeraj Narwal (5 points) were the raiders’ picks for the Bulls who broke the two-match losing streak in a thumping fashion.
The two teams exchanged points to start the game, and as in the first game of the evening, both defenses were lax in their application, allowing the attackers to easily add to their height.
Barely halfway through the first period, it didn’t take long – however, for the Bulls to open up a huge lead. On his second raid of the evening, Bharat defeated M Abhishek, K. Got a Super Raid, dismissing Abhimanyu and V Vishwanath and induced the first all out of the game to give the Bulls an 11-5 lead.
The Thalaivas slowly snatched that crucial lead as half held their lead, mostly getting bonus points of their own. But just as it looked like the Thalaivas were back in the game, the Bulls regained control. Neeraj Narwal’s heroics at both ends of the mat ensured that the home team went into the break after going 18-12.
The Bulls’ momentum continued in the second half as well, with Bharat using his reach and pace to score consecutive touch points for his team. With just two men left on the mat, another all out went ahead for the Thalaivas. However, at that precise moment, Ashish launched a scintillating Super Tackle, removing Kandola to increase his team’s capitulation.
This didn’t last long though, as Bharat again proved the difference through a two-point raid, helping his team to a second all out on Thalaivas as the Bulls extended their lead to 27-18.
The Thalaivas made a brief comeback threat, which was quickly dismissed by Kandola, who led the home team to victory with a third all out.
