Jaipur Pink Panthers defeated Dabang Delhi KC 30-28 in a close match of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 8 at the Sheraton Grand in Whitefield on Monday. Naveen Kumar and Arjun Deshwal, who were both on Super 10 streaks for their respective teams, failed to cross the milestone in the tactical battle.

But coach Sanjeev Balyan and his Jaipur team got a high 5 (8 tackle points) by Sahul Kumar and nine raid points by Deepak Hooda for the last time. Daly’s unbeaten run in Season 8 came to an end as the lack of a secondary raider to assist Vipul Naveen Kumar proved too costly.

The first-half was a crucial affair with both Naveen Kumar and Arjun Deshwal failing to produce any moment of raiding. Delhi got off to a better start with their experienced defensive line-up for the match. By the 10th minute, they managed to reduce Jaipur to just three men on the mat. But Sahul Kumar produced a super tackle to swing the match in favor of Panthers.

Both sides leveled each other at the end of the half, which saw Naveen avoid the possibility of two injuries. The score was 12-12 at the interval and both sides failed to score all-outs.

Delhi started the second half brilliantly and were all out in the fifth minute. However, with Jaipur’s defense finding form, their five-point lead did not last long. Sahul Kumar ran on his high 5 as Jaipur ensured that the score was even at the time out in the 10th minute. Deepak Hooda was in good form for the Panthers as he pushed for Delhi to be all out and take the lead. But Delhi handled the Super Tackle with Ashu Malik.

Delhi had a four-point lead in the last five minutes but Deepak Hooda of Jaipur eventually got a two-point raid which eventually led to an all out. The pace helped Panthers take the lead in the last minute and win the match, ending Delhi’s unbeaten streak.
