PM-KISAN scheme: Modi transfers ₹21,000 crore to 10 crore farmer families

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today interacted virtually with the beneficiaries of various government schemes in a program organized to mark the eighth anniversary of the BJP government at the Centre. The program was organized at Ridge Maidan, Shimla.

The Prime Minister also released the 11th installment of financial benefits under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme. This will enable the transfer of an amount of approx. 21,000 crore to more than 10 crore beneficiary farmer families. On this occasion, the Prime Minister will also interact with the beneficiaries of the following.PM-Kisan) across the country.

The objective of freewheeling interactions being organized across the country is to elicit free and frank feedback from the public, to understand the impact of welfare schemes in people’s lives and to find out the convergence and saturation with respect to various government programmes. The effort is to make the access and delivery of government programs more efficient to make the lives of the citizens of the country easier.

Assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh are due later this year.

Modi had last visited Himachal Pradesh on December 27 to address a rally at Paddal Maidan in Mandi, the home district of Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, on the occasion of the fourth anniversary of the BJP government in the state.
