PM Modi: On inauguration of Bundelkhand Expressway, PM Narendra Modi slams ‘Rewari’ culture of freebies. India News – Times of India

Orai (Jalaun): PM Narendra Modi The opposition on Saturday blamed the “dangerous Rewari (freebie) culture” rooted in electoral politics, comparing it with the inauguration of 296 km. Bundelkhand Expressway in UP Jalaun To take this point home that BJP’s focus is on development.
“Those who perpetuate this culture will never build new expressways, airports or defense corridors for you. People with this mindset feel that they can buy voters with free revdi (a popular North Indian sweet),” the PM said. “Together we have to defeat this thinking; We have to free our country’s politics from this culture. Especially the youth should avoid it.
Modi said that unlike the opposition, the double-engined government of the BJP in UP has decided to work hard to improve the future of the state instead of not taking shortcuts. Both the SP and AAP had promised several freebies ahead of the assembly elections, in which the BJP won.

The PM said that there was a time when hinterlands had reconciled themselves with the idea that only big cities were entitled to the privilege of modern modes of transport. He said that the BJP government through its roadmap of governance has changed this perception.
“This is Modi. this yogi Is. We are leaving behind archaic ideas,” he said with thunderous applause.
Modi said he has been touring UP for decades and is happy to see the changes that have taken place in his eight years as PM. “Law and order and connectivity were the two major issues. I always thought that if these two issues are addressed, UP can fight against all odds,” he said. “Now, law and order has improved due to the initiatives of Yogiji-led government, and connectivity is getting better fast.”

The PM called upon CM Yogi Adityanath to make Bundelkhand Expressway the center of the tourism circuit. “There are many forts at the places adjacent to this expressway. Yogi ji should also develop a great tourism circuit,” he said. “The way UP is growing today under this government is unprecedented,” he said.
The PM said that with the launch of the expressway, the distance from Chitrakoot and Delhi has been reduced by 3-4 hours. “This expressway will not only accelerate travel, but will also accelerate the industrial progress of the entire Bundelkhand region.”

Dedicating the Bundelkhand Expressway to the people of the region, the Chief Minister described it as an “expressway of development” which would usher in a new era of development for the most backward regions of the state. “The BJP has worked hard to make Bundelkhand a heaven on earth by implementing several development projects including a defense corridor in the region. It has made life easier by addressing various issues facing the region and restoring the rule of law,” he said.
