PM Modi to inaugurate ‘Azadi@75’ Conference-cum-Expo tomorrow. about the expo

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the ‘Azadi@75 – New Urban India: Transforming Urban Landscape’ conference-cum-expo at Indira Gandhi Foundation, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister will digitally hand over keys of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Urban (PMAY-U) houses to 75,000 beneficiaries in 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh and will also have virtual interactions with the beneficiaries of the scheme in Uttar Pradesh. He will also inaugurate/lay foundation stone for 75 urban development projects of Uttar Pradesh under Smart Cities Mission and AMRUT.

PM Modi will flag off 75 buses for seven cities including Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Jhansi and Ghaziabad under FAME-II. and released a Coffee Table Book covering 75 projects implemented under various major missions of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India.

The Prime Minister will also visit three exhibitions being organized at the Expo. He will announce the establishment of Atal Bihari Vajpayee Chair at Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University (BBAU), Lucknow.

Union Defense Minister, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister, Uttar Pradesh Governor and Chief Minister will be present on the occasion.

About Conference-cum-Expo

The conference-cum-expo is being organized by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) from October 5 to 7 as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. It is based on transforming the urban landscape with a special focus on the transformative changes brought about in Uttar Pradesh.

All the States/UTs will participate in the Conference-cum-Expo, which will help in sharing of experience, commitment and direction for further course of action.

An exhibition titled ‘New Urban India’ showcasing the achievements of transformative urban missions and projections for the future. It will highlight the achievements under the flagship urban missions over the last seven years and showcase the forward projections for the future.

The exhibition on 75 Innovative Construction Technologies, titled ‘Indian Housing Technology Mela’ (IHTM) under the Global Housing Technology Challenge-India (GHTC-India), showcases indigenously developed indigenous and innovative construction technologies, materials and processes.

The exhibition will showcase the performance of Uttar Pradesh post 2017 under the flagship Urban Mission and Future Projection with the theme UP@75: Transforming Urban Landscape in Uttar Pradesh.

The exhibition will showcase the achievements made so far under various major urban missions of MoHUA. The themes of the exhibition are Clean Urban India, Water Safe Cities, Housing for All, New Construction Technologies, Smart City Development, Cities Promoting Sustainable Mobility and Livelihood Opportunities.

The conference-cum-expo will be open to the public for two days – from 6 to 7 October 2021.
