PM Modi to inaugurate CIPET, lay foundation stone of 4 medical colleges in Rajasthan

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually inaugurate the Central Institute of Petrochemicals Engineering and Technology (CIPET) in Rajasthan’s Jaipur district on Thursday at 11 am.

The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of four medical colleges in Banswara, Sirohi, Hanumangarh and Dausa districts of Rajasthan through video conferencing today at 11 am.

According to a press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, these medical colleges have been sanctioned under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme for “Establishment of New Medical Colleges linked to District/ Referral Hospitals”.

“Priority is given to underprivileged, backward and aspirational districts in setting up medical colleges. Under three phases of the scheme, 157 new medical colleges have been sanctioned across the country,” the release said.

Taking to Twitter, the Prime Minister wrote, “High quality education is a priority for our government. At 11 am, CIPET: Institute of Petrochemicals Technology, Jaipur will be inaugurated. Want to study. Related to petrochem and energy sectors.”

Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya and Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will also be present on the occasion.

The PMO informed that the Government of India along with the Government of Rajasthan has established CIPET: Institute of Petrochemicals Technology, Jaipur.

It is self-sustaining and dedicatedly caters to the needs of the petrochemical and allied industries. It will provide education to the youth to become skilled technical professionals.
