PM Narendra Modi Bangalore visit: South India’s first Vande Bharat Express between Mysore and Chennai flagged off – watch video

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the inaugural special of South India’s first Vande Bharat Express at KSR Bengaluru station. PM Modi during his visit to Bengaluru (Bangalore) today flagged off the fifth Vande Bharat Express, a semi-high speed train from Mysore to Bengaluru via Chennai. The Swadeshi train is known for its high speed, comfort and convenience among many other factors, which is why it has become increasingly popular on the routes it introduced, taking advantage over other Shatabdi and Express trains.

“The train can travel at a speed of 160 kmph. If run at full capacity, the train can touch Bengaluru to Chennai in just three hours,” a railway official told PTI. According to officials, the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, a production unit of the Railways, has developed the train which has an intelligent braking system enabling better acceleration and deceleration.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Chennai-Mysuru Vande Bharat Express at Krantiveer Sangoli Rayanna (KSR) railway station in Bengaluru. “This will enhance connectivity between the industrial hub of Chennai and the tech and startup hub of Bengaluru and the famous tourist city of Mysore,” the PMO said.
