PM Narendra Modi will release benefits under PM Cares for Children scheme today

PM Modi tweeted on Sunday evening, “Tomorrow May 30 at 10:30 am, the benefits under PM Cares for Children scheme will be released. Through this effort, we are supporting those who have lost their parents. has been lost to COVID-19.”

Prime Minister will transfer scholarships to school going children The Prime Minister’s Office said that during the program, the children will be handed over the passbook of PM Cares for Children and health card under Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, On May 29, 2021, comprehensive support was announced for children who have lost both their parents due to the COVID 19 pandemic. The objective of the scheme is to ensure comprehensive care and protection of children who have lost their parents to the COVID pandemic, in a sustained manner, enabling their well-being through health insurance, empowering them through education to create and prepare them for self-sustaining existence. With financial assistance on reaching the age of 23 years.

PM Cares for Children scheme inter alia provides assistance to these children through convergence approach, education, gap funding to ensure health, monthly stipend from the age of 18 and a lump sum amount of Rs. 10 lakh on attaining the age of 23 years.

An online portal was launched by the government for the registration of children. The portal is a single window system that facilitates the approval process and all other support for the children.

Eligibility under the scheme includes:

I. Support for boarding and lodging:

a) Efforts shall be made by the District Magistrate with the assistance of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) to ascertain the possibility of rehabilitation of the child within his extended family, relatives, relatives or relatives.

b) If the extended family, relatives, kin or relatives of the child are not available / not prepared / not fit by the CWC or the child (of 4 -10 years of age or above) is not willing to live with them, the child Should be placed in foster care after due diligence as prescribed under the Juvenile Justice Act, 2015 and its rules as amended from time to time.

c) If the foster family is not available / not willing / found fit by the CWC, or the child (of 4 -10 years of age or above) is not ready to live with them, then the child will be 1 of the beneficiary / beneficiary. Means the eligible child beneficiaries is the PM Cares for Children scheme. 3 must be placed in an age appropriate and gender appropriate Child Care Institution (CCI).

d) Children above the age of 10 years, who have not been received by extended families or relatives or foster families or are not willing to live with the parents after their demise or are residing in child care institutions, shall be referred to Netaji Subhash Can be enrolled in Chand Bose Residential School, Kasturba. Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Eklavya Model School, Sainik School, Navodaya Vidyalaya, or any other residential school by the District Magistrate, subject to the relevant planning guidelines.

e) It may be ensured that siblings live together as far as possible.

f) For non-institutional care, financial assistance will be provided to the children (in the account of the guardian) at the prevailing rates prescribed under the Child Protection Services (CPS) scheme. For the child in institutional care, the maintenance grant will be given to the child care institutions at the prevailing rates prescribed under the Child Protection Services (CPS) scheme. Any provision for subsistence support under the state plan may also be provided to children additionally.

ii. Support for pre-school and school education

One. The identified beneficiaries for children below 6 years of age will receive support and assistance from Anganwadi services for supplementary nutrition, pre-school education/ECCE, immunization, health referral and health check-up.

b. For children under 10 years old

i) Day Scholar in any nearby school i.e. Government / Government Aided School / Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) / Private Schools will be admitted.

ii) Under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan in government schools, two sets of free uniforms and text books will be provided as per the guidelines of the scheme.

iii) Tuition fees will be waived in private schools under section 12(1)(c) of the RTE Act.

iv) In situations where the child is unable to avail the above benefits, the fees as per RTE norms will be paid from PM Cares for Children scheme. The scheme will also pay for expenditure on uniforms, textbooks and notebooks. A matrix of such entitlements is detailed in Annex-I.

C. For children aged 11-18

i) If the child is residing with the extended family, admission as a day student in the nearest Government / Government Aided School / Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) / Private Schools may be ensured by the DM.

ii) The child may be enrolled in Netaji Subhash Chand Bose Residential School / Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya / Eklavya Model School / Sainik School / Navodaya Vidyalaya / or any other residential school by the DM, subject to the relevant scheme guidelines.

iii) The DM may make alternative arrangements for such children to stay at CCI or any suitable place during the holidays.

iv) In situations where the child is unable to avail the above benefits, the fees as per RTE norms will be paid from PM Cares for Children scheme. The scheme will also pay for expenditure on uniforms, textbooks and notebooks. A matrix of such entitlements is given in the detailed Annex.

D. Support for higher education:

i) The child will be assisted in getting education loan for vocational courses/higher education in India

ii) In situations where the beneficiary is unable to avail the interest subvention from the existing central and state government scheme, the interest on the educational loan will be paid from the PM Cares for Children scheme.

iii) As an alternative, the schemes of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Ministry of Minority Affairs and Department of Higher Education will be provided scholarship as per norms to the beneficiaries of PM Cares for Children scheme. , The beneficiaries will be provided assistance through the National Scholarship Portal to avail such entitlements. The scholarship given to the beneficiaries will be updated on the PM Cares for Children portal.

iii. health insurance:

One. All children will be enrolled as beneficiary under Ayushman Bharat Yojana (PM-JAY) with a health insurance cover of Rs. 5 lakhs.

b. It will be ensured that the child identified under PM Cares for Children scheme gets benefits under PM Jai

iv. financial help:

One. The lump sum amount will be directly transferred to the post office account of the beneficiaries upon account opening and verification of the beneficiaries. A pro-rata amount will be deposited in the account of each identified beneficiary in advance, so that the amount for each beneficiary is Rs. 10 lakh at the time of attaining the age of 18 years.

b. Children will receive monthly stipend after attaining the age of 18 years, by investing the corpus of 10 lakhs. The beneficiary will receive the stipend till he attains the age of 23 years.

C. He will get an amount of one lakh rupees. 10 lakh on attaining the age of 23 years
