Politics on madrasas in UP, Yogi government started survey of famous Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema

On Thursday, after the Uttar Pradesh government ordered a survey of private madrassas running in the state, officials reached Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema, the world famous madrasa located in Lucknow.

Senior administrative officers including SDM, BSA and DMO arrived on Thursday for the Nadwatul Ulema survey. Also known as Nadwa, it is one of the famous Muslim madrassas run by Alla in the country India Muslim Personal Law Board

Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema Chancellor Rabe Hasan Nadvi is also the current Chairman of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board. AIMPLB had already objected to the survey of private madrassas by the Uttar Pradesh government and earlier termed it as unconstitutional.

Speaking on the survey, Abdul Aziz Nadvi, Vice Principal, Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulema said, “There is nothing to hide from the authorities, everyone knows that we run on charity. Whatever the officials had asked for, they have been provided.”

But BJP has said that the survey is to find out irregularities. “All types of madrassas will come under the ambit of the survey to see whether the correct syllabus is being followed and whether there are any irregularities or not. All educational institutions and madrasas are surveyed from time to time. education The board has decided to conduct a survey of all madrasas, whether recognized or unrecognized. Student-teacher ratio will also be a point during the survey to improve education,” UP BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi said.

Earlier, Bahujan Samaj Party chief and former Chief Minister Mayawati had also objected to the survey of madrassas by the Yogi Adityanath government. Attacking the BJP government of Uttar Pradesh, the BSP chief had said that it would have been better if we had focused on improving the condition of government schools.

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board had also opposed the government’s order. The AIMPLB had alleged that the intention of the government was a nefarious attempt to create distance between Hindus and Muslims.

AIMPLB general secretary Maulana Khalid Saifullah Rehmani, in his press note, had said that the decision of some state governments to conduct survey of religious madrasas was a ‘nefarious conspiracy to create distance between fellow countrymen’.

“Religious madrasas have a bright history. Character building and moral training for those studying and teaching in these madrasas are organized round the clock. Those who studied and taught in these madrassas never did any work based on terrorism and communal hatred. Although many times the government made such allegations, but such allegations were false and no such evidence was found.

“LK Advani, a veteran and influential leader of the ruling party, had also accepted this while being the Home Minister of the country. The strong leadership of the country like Dr. Rajendra Prasad, Jawaharlal Nehru, APJ Abdul Kalam and Maulana Azad have acknowledged the services of madrassas.

He had said that the scholars (ulemas) who came out of madrasas had made extraordinary sacrifices during the freedom struggle and even after independence these institutions were playing a major role in imparting education to the poorest sections of the country.

“The Board, therefore, requests the Government to stay away from this intention and if the survey is conducted under any lawful requirement, it should not be limited to madrasas or Muslim institutions only, but all religious and non-religious institutions in the country.” Should be limited to religious institutions, Rahmani had said.

Maulana Rehmani had said that surveying only religious madrasas was an attempt to insult Muslims and termed it as ‘absolutely unacceptable’.
