Ranchi: Polling will be held in the third phase of the fourth phase in a total of 1,047 panchayats in 70 blocks of 19 districts of Jharkhand. jury Elections on Tuesday, election officials said on Monday.
Over 46.94 voters, including 22.86 lakh women, are entitled to exercise their franchise to decide the political fate of 27,343 candidates.
Panchayat elections in Jharkhand are not held on party lines.
In the third phase, elections were to be held for 15,376 posts – 12,911 panchayat members, 1,047 mukhiyas, 1,290 panchayat samiti representatives and 128 District Council Member
However, a total of 5,950 candidates have already been declared unopposed winners in the third phase.
State Election Commission (SEC) secretary said, “All preparations have been completed for the third phase. Polling will start from 7 am to 3 pm. Polling parties have been sent to their respective places.” Radhe Shyam Prasad said.
A total of 12,912 polling stations have been set up for the third phase. Of these, 6,021 have been declared sensitive and 3,804 as very sensitive.
Adequate security arrangements have been made for both the voters and the polling personnel. The SEC Secretary said that a large number of security personnel have been deployed at all the polling stations for peaceful polling.
The last phase of elections will be held on May 27.
District Election Officer (DEO) in Ranchi and Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi Chhavi Ranjan On Monday, the sector magistrates and police officers engaged in election duty were directed to follow the guidelines of the commission properly.
The state capital has four blocks – Ormanjhi, Angara, Namkum And Silli-will vote in the third phase. Ranjan appealed to the voters to cast their votes without any fear or hesitation.
