Filmmaker Farooq Abdul Rehman is relieved with his latest film pori voile despite the many hurdles faced by independent filmmakers like him who wanted to reach as many audiences as possible to make it to the big screen.
pori voilewhich is his second film after the much acclaimed debut kaliyachanAfter a successful run in theaters in Kozhikode, Thrissur and Palakkad, Sangeetha released in theaters here on Friday. “The film was released on December 2 at 17 centers after much struggle as the theaters were then supporting four films distributed by a leading film house in Malayalam. The word-of-mouth publicity helped us continue the screening for two weeks in select theatres,” said Mr. Rahiman.
pori voile, which tells the story of the marginalized, stars award-winning actors Indrans and Surbhi Lakshmi in lead roles. The camera belonged to the late MJ Radhakrishnan. Bijbal composed the songs while the lyrics were penned by Rafiq Ahmed. Editing was done by Bijit Bala.
