Positivity rate below 4% in Aurangabad district. Aurangabad News – Times of India

Aurangabad: With the overall COVID-19 situation improving, the positivity rate in the district in the last one week – between February 10 and 16 – has stood at 3.96%.
The average positivity rate for the district stood at 8.66% during the second wave. The positivity rate in urban areas was 8%, while it was 9.90% in rural areas of the district.

During the second wave, the death rate in the district stood at 2.20%, while contact tracing stood at 13.85%. According to health officials, 53 new Covid cases were observed on Thursday, taking the total number of active cases to 1,126. Health officials said that a total of 165 people have been cured of the infection and there have been no deaths.
District Collector Sunil Chavan “The situation has improved significantly with 99.04 per cent of the oxygen beds created for the Covid-19 patients being emptied,” he told TOI.
The district has a total of 3,230 with oxygen beds, 1,025 ICU beds and 552 ventilators, of which 4,761 are vacant. “The district received a total of 48,43,992 vaccines, including 43,80,946” Cowishield and 4,63,046 covaccine. Of these, 93.57 per cent has been utilised. Chavan said.
A high-ranking official in the administration said that if the situation continues to improve in the same way, the day is not far when the administration will start easing all restrictions. During the second wave, 15,27,905 tests were conducted across the district to identify the infected people.
As per the data received, the district has set a target of 34,38,500 vaccinations, out of which 82.24% for the first dose and 48.60% for the second dose have been achieved. Apart from this, 33,469 precautionary doses have also been given to the beneficiaries across the district.
