Power failure in many areas of Mumbai, local train service restored

On Sunday, several areas of Mumbai suffered heavy power outages due to a technical snag.

Expressing regret to the citizens for the inconvenience, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation in a tweet said that their team is working to resolve the issue at the earliest.

Due to some technical issues, power supply has come to a standstill in many parts of the city.
Our team is on the field to resolve this issue. Power supply is expected to be restored in an hour. We are sorry for the inconvenience,” the civic body tweeted.

Local train services, considered the lifeline of the country’s financial capital, have been restored on the Central Railway route after a brief disruption.

The Chief Public Relations Officer of Central Railway tweeted, “Power supply on HB & Main Line till 9.49-52 AM. Trains running on all corridors.”

Earlier, Mumbai had faced a massive power cut on October 12, 2020, which lasted for 18 hours in certain areas.
