Guwahati: Rinki Bhuyan, wife of Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Sarma FIR and civil defamation case of Rs 100 crore registered against Delhi Deputy CM Manish on Tuesday Sisodia to link him to corruption charges PPE Supply of kits in the state in 2020.
His lawyer P Nayak told the media that Sisodia had claimed at a press conference in New Delhi on June 4 that Sarma, as a health minister, supplied PPE kits to the firms of his wife and son’s business partners without a tender process. and that kit was bought by the government at a higher price.
“My client Rinki Bhuyan Sarma has filed an FIR. Manish Sisodia Made a political statement and dragged my client. It had not filed any tender for the PPE kit supply process. Instead, he gifted PPE kits as a donation under CSR activities,” said his lawyer. The defamation case is expected to be listed in the Gauhati High Court tomorrow.
Sarma had the next day dismissed Sisodia’s allegations of corruption and linking his wife to the supply of PPE kits in the state and then warned that the AAP leader would soon face “criminal defamation”. In a series of tweets, Sarma said that his wife had donated PPE Kit,
