An official spokesman said President Draupadi Murmu would fly in a Sukhoi 30 MKI fighter jet from Tezpur Air Force Station on Saturday.
In 2009, former President Pratibha Patil flew in a frontline fighter aircraft.
The spokesman said that President Murmu would be on a tour of Assam from April 6 to 8.
“On April 8, 2023, the President will fly in a Sukhoi 30 MKI fighter aircraft at Tezpur Air Force Station,” the official said.
She will inaugurate the Gaja Utsav-2023 at Kaziranga National Park on April 7 and later flag off Mount Kanchenjunga Expedition-2023 in Guwahati.
The spokesperson said that on the same day she would also attend the function to mark the completion of 75 years of the Gauhati High Court in Guwahati.
