Ahmedabad : Prime Minister Narendra Modi Will launch several projects and inaugurate a memorial built for the victims of 2001 Gujarat Government officials said on Tuesday that the quake struck during their two-day tour of the state from August 27.
According to the tentative schedule shared by state government officials, Modi will begin his Gujarat tour by addressing a program on Sunday. Sabarmati Riverfront Hundreds of weavers will weave ‘charkha’ or spinning wheel in Ahmedabad on 27 August.

The ‘Smriti Van’ is a memorial built atop the Bhujio hill near the town of Bhuj in Kutch district, as a tribute to over 13,000 people who died in the Gujarat earthquake on January 26, 2001.
Many people from Kutch district, especially those from Bhuj were among those killed in the powerful earthquake. The memorial-cum-museum was conceived by Modi when he was the chief minister of the state and will now be inaugurated.
Later in the day, the Prime Minister will address a gathering Kutch University Ground officials in Bhuj said that from the same site he would launch several projects, including a new plant for Sarhad Dairy and four-laning of the Bhuj-Bhimsar highway.
