Prohibitory orders in Mangaluru’s Surathkal after man was stabbed to death: Police

Police is probing the motive behind the murder.

Mangaluru:

A 45-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death at Katipalla under Surathkal police station area of ​​Mangaluru on Saturday night, police said.

The deceased has been identified as Jalil, the owner of the fancy shop.

Jaleel was at his shop when two men allegedly attacked him. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where he died.

Police said further investigation is on to ascertain the motive behind the murder and the people behind it.

Police Commissioner N Shashi Kumar on Sunday imposed prohibitory orders under section 144 of the CrPC in Suratkal and surrounding areas.

According to the police, movement in groups of five or more people has been banned from 6 am on Sunday till 6 am on December 27 in Surathkal, Panambur, Bajpe and Kavur police station areas.

However, this will not apply to Christmas celebrations, religious events and emergency services.
