Property worth crores found during anti-corruption raid on Mali

Karnataka Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials were on Friday stunned when they unearthed the property of gardener Shivalingaiah at the Bengaluru Development Authority.

According to ACB sources, he has three houses, five prime plots in Bengaluru, agricultural and commercial land worth crores of rupees in Channapatna and Mysore in Ramanagara district.

“Based on the source information report, under the supervision of Superintendent of ACB, Bengaluru City Division, three teams of 15 officers and staff have conducted simultaneous searches at three locations,” the ACB said.

Over 300 ACB officials suspected 21 officials at 80 locations to have acquired assets disproportionate to their known sources of income, ACB officials said on Friday.

The practice started from Friday morning itself.

ACB sources said the officials found valuables, expensive vehicles and cash besides investment documents.

However, he did not share the details as the raids were still going on.

Those who were raided included engineers from the Irrigation Department, Public Works Department and Rural Development and Panchayat Raj.

A police inspector, district registrar in the office of the inspector general of registration, road transport officer, a project director of a construction centre, panchayat grade-II secretary in Gadag district and assistant controller in veterinary department were also among those whose premises were raided.
