Prophet controversy: Pakistan launched propaganda campaign against India: Report

Amid the ongoing tension over controversial remarks against Prophet Mohammad, a new report has emerged which claims that Pakistan is once again using social media to defame India on Prophet Mohammad by suspended BJP leader Nupur Sharma. Defaming India after remarks during a TV debate. The users who interacted on the hashtag were from Pakistan.

Digital Forensic Research and Analytics Center (DFRAC) highlighted in its latest report that of the more than 60,000 users analysed, most of them were non-verified users who all interacted with the hashtag. There were 60,020 unverified accounts from different countries, which interacted with over 7,100 accounts from Pakistan on all hashtags.

According to the DFRAC report, several media houses including Pakistani Arya News had run the false news that the grand Mufti of Oman had announced boycott of Indian product. However, he criticized the remark. Prophet Mohammed And asked all Muslims to unite against it. But, his claim of starting the Boycott India trend is misleading.

In addition, Abdul, a former ambassador to Pakistan, falsely claimed that expelled BJP leader Naveen Jindal is the brother of Industrialist Jindal.

A fake screenshot in the name of English cricketer Moeen Ali in which he is talking about boycotting the IPL also went viral. Some of the most used hashtags were #Stopinsulting_ProphetMuhammad, #boycottindianproduct.

The development comes in the wake of several countries including Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Bahrain, Maldives, Oman, Afghanistan, Kuwait, Qatar, and Iran strongly condemning Sharma’s remarks on Prophet Mohammed, while Iran, Also Qatar, the DFRAC has issued a statement saying that they are satisfied with the Indian government’s action against the leader who made controversial remarks about Prophet Muhammad.

However, public figures like Khalid Bedouin, Moinuddin ibn Nasrullah and Ali Sohrab got another opportunity to spread hatred and communalism. Khalid Baydoun reportedly started posting with the hashtag #BoycottIndianProduct, while also dragging the Kashmir issue in the middle.

Nupur Sharma’s remarks in a TV debate were criticized across the country as well as internationally. After the controversy caught fire, BJP suspended Nupur Sharma’s membership and expelled Naveen Jindal.
