The Big Bash League (BBL 12) final will take place between Perth Scorchers (PRS) and Brisbane Heat (BRH) in the final of the tournament at the Perth Stadium on Saturday, February 4. points table with 11 wins from 14 matches and then beat Sydney Sixers quite easily in the qualifiers a few days ago to seal their place in the finals. Summer on the other hand has been a roller-coaster ride. They managed to book their place in the playoffs, with only one point separating them from the sixth-placed Hobart Hurricanes, who also had the same number of wins. But an extra point due to the washed out match resulted in the Heat being included as the fifth team.
To their credit, BRH deserved to reach the finals as they played great cricket after entering the playoffs, winning three matches in a row to enter the finals.
The Jimmy Peirson-led side defeated Sydney Thunder in the Eliminator before defeating the Melbourne Renegades in the knockouts. In the Challengers, he set up the final with the Scorchers defeating the Sixers by 4 wickets.
The Scorchers will again depend on Ashton Hardy and Josh Inglis in the big match. He has been their best batsman in this edition of BBL and needs to continue the good form in the finals if PRS are to win. The Heat have played excellent cricket as a collective unit. They are used to winning now and will carry the momentum into the final. There is a positive energy in the heat camp which could prove beneficial for them in the summit clash.
