Kalaburagi: The CID on Thursday arrested Afzalpur Congress MLA MY Patil’s gunman and a City Armed Reserve constable in connection with irregularities in the recruitment examination of Police Sub-Inspector.
Gunmen Hayali Desai and constable Rudragowda Patil were apprehended at Ram Mandir circle in Kalaburagi town. Desai was elected sai Provisional list with highest marks. He was arrested when he was in the vehicle with Patil.
Three invigilators of Gyan Jyoti English Medium School, which was an examination centre, and three candidates who took the written examination at the centre, have also been arrested. The husband of BJP functionary Divya Hagaragi, who is the school’s president, has been arrested for helping two candidates escape. Hagaragi is yet to be picked up.
