ISLAMABAD: Annoyed by Prime Minister Imran Khan’s relentless protests against the courts, the head of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) Justice Athar Minallah on Monday said it seems the PTI leadership does not have faith in the judiciary.

Justice Minallah issued the remarks while hearing a petition filed by PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry challenging the cases registered against Imran Khan and his party’s top leadership over the Masjid-e-Nabwi incident.

At the beginning of today’s hearing, Justice Minallah said: “Yesterday, PTI chairman Imran Khan once again questioned why the courts were opened at 12 noon.”

He asked whether “the PTI president has faith in the courts or not?”

The petitioner was telling his party workers that the courts were “compromising”, Justice Minallah said, adding that if the petitioner did not have faith in the court, he would excuse himself from hearing the case and rest the judiciary to compromise. charged up.

The judge directed the counsel for the petitioner to take directions from the leadership of the party, and said that if the party does not have faith in this bench, they will refer the matter to another bench where they are comfortable.

He said that he did not want other important matters including the missing persons case to be affected by the political statements made by the party leadership.

On this, Fawad’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhary, considering it as a missing case, requested the court to hear the matter.

“Don’t underestimate the issue of missing persons,” the judge told the lawyer.

The IHC CJ said that they are not afraid of any campaign against the judiciary, adding that they decide cases as per law.
