Publish ‘white paper’ on 3.5% reservation for Muslims: Anbumani

PMK president Anbumani Ramadoss on Monday said the state government should publish a ‘white paper’ on whether the 3.5% reservation for Muslims in government jobs and higher education has helped the community and needed to do more to help the community. Steps have been taken.

At an Iftar event organized by the PMK in Chennai, he was urged by office-bearers of various Muslim organizations not to keep any trucks with ‘religious forces’. To this he said, PMK’s ideology of standing with the minority and oppressed communities in the society will never be compromised.

“PMK will not back down from its ideology of standing with the Muslim community and other oppressed communities. Political alliance is a different matter. In future you will see how our politics is going to develop.

According to him, Tamil Nadu needs to remain a peaceful state and should not cause trouble to anyone. “The PMK will take a decision for sure. Our intention is development,” he said. Dr Anbumani felt it was time for a “change” in the state and new ideas were needed. “The only party in the state supporting prohibition, which is one of the fundamental principles of Islam, is the PMK,” he claimed.
