Petrol and diesel prices, which have been increasing continuously for the last one week, have stabilized for the last two days.
Sources said that this is the first time that CNG and petrol prices were so high in Pune.
“The prices of all types of fuel are at an all-time high in Pune. This is the first time that the price of petrol has crossed Rs 110 and that of CNG has crossed Rs 60. The price of diesel is also at an all-time high, according to the Pune Petrol Dealers Association. The official said that if the prices continue to rise like this, its prices will very soon cross the Rs 100 level.
CNG in the state is supplied by Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL). While rising cost of petrol and diesel has been attributed to higher crude oil prices, MNGL sources had earlier said that rising raw material cost was driving up CNG prices.
In Pune, around 95% of all autorickshaws run on CNG. Also, most of the city buses (PMPML) also run on this fuel.
