Punjab Assembly Elections: Aam Aadmi Party announces second list of 30 candidates

Aam Aadmi Party The (AAP) on Friday released the second list of 30 candidates for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections.

Earlier in November, AAP had announced a list of 10 candidates for the upcoming elections.

The second list includes Raman Behl, who joined AAP as a candidate from Gurdaspur after leaving the Congress in November. Jagroop Singh Sekhwan has been given ticket from Kadian. Punjabi singer Anmol Gagan Mann has been given ticket from Kharar.

Vibhuti Sharma will contest from Pathankot, Shamsher Singh from Dina Nagar (SC), Sheri Kalsi from Batala, Balbir Singh Pannu from Fatehpur Churian, Kunwar Vijay Pratap from Amritsar North, Inderbir Singh Nijjar from Amritsar South, Laljit Singh Bhullar from Patti, DCP from Balkar . Singh from Kartarpur (SC), Ravjot Singh from Sham Chaurasi (SC), Lalit Mohan ‘Balu’ Pathak from Nawan Shahar.

Others in the list include Daljit Singh ‘Bhola’ Grewal from Ludhiana East, Kulwant Singh Sidhu from Atma Nagar, Manvinder Singh Gyaspura from Payal (SC), Naresh Kataria from Zira, Jagdeep Singh ‘Kaka’ Brar from Sri Muktsar Sahib, Gurdit Huh. Singh Sekhon from Faridkot, Balkar Singh Sidhu from Rampura Phool, Nina Mittal from Rajpura, Harmeet Singh Pathanamjran from Sanaur, Chetan Singh Jormajra from Samana, Madan Lal Bagga from Ludhiana North.

Apart from this, Jeevan Singh Sangoval will contest from Gill (SC), Gurmeet Singh Khudian Lambi, Gurlal Ghanaur, Bhadaur (SC), Labh Singh Ugoke from Bhadaur (SC), Lal Chand Kataruchak Bhoa (SC) and Harbhajan Singh. Jandiala (SC) to ETO.

In the first list, the party has given ticket to senior leader Harpal Singh Cheema from Dirba seat while Aman Arora from Sunam assembly constituency.

It said that Sarvjit Kaur Manuke will contest from Jagraon seat and Baljinder Kaur will contest from Talwandi Sabo.

Jai Kishan Rodi from Garhshankar seat, Manjit Bilaspur from Nihal Singh Wala, Kultar Singh Sandhwan from Kotkapura, Budhram from Budhlada, Gurmeet Singh Meet Haier from Barnala and Kulwant Pandori from Mahal Kalan have been given tickets.

Assembly elections are to be held in Punjab in 2022.

AAP is campaigning extensively in the state, with party chief Arvind Kejriwal announcing various schemes which will be implemented if voted to power.

Kejriwal had promised on Tuesday Scheduled Caste Community That he will provide free education to their children apart from paying coaching fees for higher education.

Earlier he had said that all women above 18 years of age in Punjab would be given 1,000 if AAP wins the assembly elections.

In the 2017 Punjab Assembly elections, the Congress won an absolute majority in the state by winning 77 seats and ousted the SAD-BJP government after 10 years.

The Aam Aadmi Party has emerged as the second largest party by winning 20 seats in the 117-member Punjab Assembly. The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) managed to win only 15 seats, while the BJP got three.
