He said that the police party had received a tip-off that the accused persons were going from Judaha Chowk Falewal to Falewal and other villages wearing the uniform of DSP, Sub Inspector and Constable with stickers of Punjab Police in a Bolero vehicle.
Police said that as per information the accused were fooling innocent people. He said that the police acted immediately and set up a check post at Judaha Chowk Falewal towards Village Falewal Road and stopped the vehicle.
Police officials said that the police party found him wearing unconfirmed Punjab Police clothes and recovered a fake joining letter from him. The charges against the accused were 171 (wearing or carrying a token used by a public servant with intent to cheat), 419 (punishment for cheating by impersonation), 465 (punishment for forgery) and 468 (for the purpose of cheating), he said.
