According to an order, the Punjab government on Tuesday lifted all restrictions related to Kovid in the state. However, people have been advised to follow the COVID-appropriate behavior norms.
“In exercise of the powers conferred under section 2 of the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897, along with all other enabling provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2005, in supersession of all previous directions on the subject, all COVID-19 related restrictions shall be withdrawn. Taken ..with immediate effect,” said the order issued by the State Department of Home Affairs and Justice. However, the residents of the State are advised to adhere to the COVID-appropriate behavior norms,” it added.
In this regard, instructions have been issued to all the divisional commissioners, deputy commissioners and senior police officers of the state. Several restrictions were imposed by the authorities to contain the spread of coronavirus in the state.
