Punjab: Supporters of Bhagwant Mann continue to campaign for him. Ludhiana News – Times of India

Jalandhar : Even Aam Aadmi Partylone Lok Sabha member of Punjab unit president Bhagwant Mannu Now meeting with party workers has stopped, his supporters in the state are campaigning on social media to declare him as the party’s chief ministerial candidate.
Even the bitterness is evident in the voice of some of his supporters and they are not shying away from taking a dig at the party supremo. Arvind Kejriwal.
After Kejriwal lectured his party workers on Saturday that he should not be hankering for the posts, many of Mann’s supporters are pointing out that the CM himself is holding two positions and even amended the party’s constitution. So that his continuity as party convener is maintained.
He is also saying that on one hand he gave speeches to party volunteers and on the other, leaders of traditional parties were being included and they were being directly made party candidates. He cited recent such examples.
For a few days, Mann’s supporters from different parts of Punjab kept running towards his house. Sangrur To show solidarity with him, an unannounced campaign is being run on the party high command to declare him the chief ministerial candidate.
These changes in his place were seen by his camp as a show of strength. Mann has also kept a distance from the day-to-day activities of the party, unlike in the past when he was seen as the most active face at party events.
As the campaign gained momentum, it clearly did not please the central party leadership. AAP Insiders revealed that his camp was told that pressure tactics could have an adverse effect. On 7 September, Mann announced that he would have to move to Delhi due to parliamentary committee meetings and announced that he would stop meetings with volunteers from 8 September.
However, his supporters did not give up. Many of them are making it clear that no other CM face will be accepted and Mann is the only option if the party wants to win in Punjab. A split among party workers is also visible on social media as a section is arguing for going with the decision of the central party leadership.
Many have commented on Mann’s Facebook page that he should not give up as the party needs him to win in Punjab.
Though the central leadership of AAP has remained silent on the issue, the change in tone of Mann’s supporters is evident. Unlike earlier times, when he used to express unquestioning faith in Kejriwal, he has started questioning him too.
