Qatar FIFA World Cup to start a day ahead of plan: Report

Senior football sources told AFP on Wednesday that the opening match of this year’s World Cup in Qatar would be pushed back a day to November 20.

Sources said FIFA and Qatari organizers have agreed to the change. According to the current schedule, Senegal and the Netherlands play the first game on 21 November, followed by the official opening match between Qatar and Ecuador later that day.
