While on duty late Wednesday, a royal guard fainted on the podium for Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral procession at Westminster Hall. The guard was guarding the queen’s coffin and suddenly fell on her face from the stage. After falling to the ground, the police rushed to the aid of the royal guard.

Thousands of mourners paid their respects to the late Queen while lying in state at Westminster Hall on 14 September. The guard was wearing a black uniform and was a staff, and then he stumbled on the podium and fell on his face. The police rushed to his aid and then he was quickly back in his position. The Queen’s coffin is guarded round-the-clock by service members from the Sovereign Bodyguard, the Household Division, or the Yemen Warders of the Tower of London, which was live-streaming the ceremony, reports the BBC.

The mourners gasped as soon as the guard fell to the ground, which was captured in a video. In the video, two police officers can be seen running to pick him up. Shocked viewers also took to social media with a tweet: “He must have been overwhelmed by what was happening.” Another said: “Bless him – just happened to tune in; noticed he was staggering a bit and feared he’d faint. Hope he’s fine.” Similar comments included: “Poor, I hope she’s okay. It was terrifying to watch” and “It’s such a huge responsibility during such a historic moment. I hope she’s okay.”

According to Hello Magazine, Lady Gabriella Windsor fainted as the Queen’s coffin arrived at Westminster Hall. Her husband, Thomas Kingston, could be seen helping to bring the coffin, while her mother, Princess Michael of Kent, looked concerned. Lady Gabriella Windsor was not seen after the incident, while both her parents remained for the rest of the service. She is also known to be with Rani, who attended her wedding in 2019.

Hundreds and thousands of mourners lined up for 30 hours at Westminster Hall in London to pay tribute to the late Queen, who died last Thursday, 8 September. The queen passed away at the age of 96 after a seven-decade-long reign.

The Queen’s coffin arrived at Westminster Hall at around 3 p.m. local time, followed by her son and heir, King Charles III, and her warring grandsons, Prince William and Prince Harry, for the funeral. Other senior members of the royal family were also present, including Queen Consort Camilla, Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.
