“West Side Story” star Rachel Ziegler will star in the animated musical feature “Spellbound.”

As Deadline reports, Ziegler will voice Princess Alien, a determined princess who must go on an adventurous quest to save her family and kingdom when a mysterious spell turns her parents into demons and Threatens to cover Lumbria in darkness forever.

Vicky Jensen will direct the film from a screenplay by Lauren Hynek, Elizabeth Martin and Linda Woolverton.

Academy Award winner Alan Menken will provide the original score for the film with lyrics by Glenn Slater.

Chris Monton will serve as executive music producer. John Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and David Lippman are producing for Skydance Animation.

Ziegler recently made her Hollywood debut with her performance in veteran filmmaker Steven Spielber’s “West Side Story.” The actor will next be seen in the DC superhero film “Shazam! Fury of the Gods”, co-starring Zachary Levy, Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu.
