Raghav Chadha becomes co-in-charge of you Gujarat

Aam Aadmi Party has appointed its Rajya Sabha MP from Punjab Raghav Chadha as co-incharge (sah-incharge) of Gujarat ahead of the much-awaited assembly elections in the state later this year.

Chadha was also the co-in-charge of Punjab and is said to have played a key role in bringing the party to power.

The AAP Gujarat unit made the announcement on Twitter, tagging Chadha, the unit wrote in a tweet in Gujarati, “Congratulations and best wishes to Rajya Sabha MP and youth leader Shri @raghav_chadhaon on his appointment as co-incharge of ‘AAP Gujarat’. !”

AAP’s Gujarat President Gopal Italia also congratulated Chadha on Twitter, writing in Hindi, “Many congratulations to Aam Aadmi Party’s popular youth leader and Rajya Sabha MP Shri @raghav_chadha ji on getting the responsibility of co-in-charge of Gujarat. Raghav Ji is welcome in Gujarat, we all together will form the Aam Aadmi Party government in Gujarat like Punjab. Jai Hind.

Replying to AAP’s Gujarat unit’s tweet, the AAP Rajya Sabha MP thanked party supremo Arvind Kejriwal, writing, “I thank @ArvindKejriwal ji for entrusting me with this big responsibility. I share my blood, sweat, tears. Will work harder. Live up to the expectations of my party. Gujarat wants change, Gujarat wants good education and health. Gujarat wants Kejriwal.

The AAP party began its journey in Gujarat in the 2017 assembly elections, but failed to win a single seat. However, in February 2021 it won 27 out of 120 seats, while the Congress failed to open its account.

Arvind Kejriwal has made several visits to Gujarat with his deputy Manish Sisodia and is giving him ‘guarantees’. He has promised free electricity up to 300 units. 3000 unemployment allowance, 10 lakh government jobs, freedom from ‘raid raj’ and implementation of Fifth Schedule and Panchayat (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act if his party comes to power in Gujarat.

The Aam Aadmi Party has been trying to make its national presence felt especially since it formed the government in Punjab earlier this year. AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal is adopting a more national approach instead of limiting himself to Delhi politics. Delhi CM has been talking about uniting and running ‘130 crore Indians’ ‘Make India No-1’ The campaign is being seen as a sign of an attempt to find a national role for him and his party.
