New Delhi:

Amid speculations about cabinet expansion and organizational change in Rajasthan, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi held a meeting with state Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot in New Delhi on Saturday.

According to sources, Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, organization general secretary KC Venugopal and Congress general secretary in-charge Ajay Maken were also present during the meeting that lasted for about an hour at Rahul Gandhi’s Tughlaq Lane residence.

Asked about the meeting, Maken told reporters, “Nothing special. It was just a regular meeting.”

It is learned that issues related to cabinet expansion and political appointments in Rajasthan were discussed in the meeting.

The meeting came amid a leadership tussle between Mr Gehlot and former state deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot.

Mr Pilot has been demanding for a long time that the cabinet should be expanded and appointments to the boards and corporations in the state should be made soon. He has been insisting that Congress workers and leaders who worked with him for the party should be given their dues.

Mr Maken had said last month that the roadmap for cabinet expansion and organizational change was ready in the state.
