Gandhi, who returned to Delhi after campaigning for the party in election Karnataka, visited Old Delhi’s Chandni Chowk, which is bustling with activity during the month of Ramzan.

congress leader Rahul Gandhi Take a break from the political hustle and bustle on Tuesday and visit Matia Mahal Bazaar in Old Delhi and Bengali Bazaar in Mandi House area and enjoy some popular delicacies including golgappas and chaat.

Gandhi, who returned to Delhi after campaigning for the party in the election-bound state of Karnataka, visited Old Delhi’s Chandni Chowk, which bustles with activity during the month of Ramzan.

Clad in blue T-shirts and surrounded by Special Protection Group (SPG) security, he visited a famous ‘sharbat’ vendor and other street food eateries in Matia Mahal area. He fed himself fruits and also tasted ‘Gol Gappa’ in Nathu sweets in the Bengali market.

In pictures shared on social media, Gandhi could be seen in the crowd crowded by people who were excited to see the former Congress chief. He also interacted with some people and then went straight to a Gol Gappa stall and enjoyed the chat.

A large crowd gathered around him in the narrow lanes of Old Delhi and raised slogans.

Gandhi has often been seen visiting popular restaurants in the national capital.

On 23 March, he was sentenced to two years in jail by a court in Gujarat’s Surat in a 2019 criminal defamation case over his “Why are all thieves surnamed Modi” remarks. A day later, he was disqualified from the Lok Sabha from that date. During the Lok Sabha election campaign in April 2019, the head of the Gandhi family made this remark in Kolar.
