Thiruvananthapuram:

Officials of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday raided several places in Kerala, including the residences of second-line leaders of the banned Islamic outfit Popular Front of India.

Sources in Kerala Police said that the raids which started late last night are still going on.

Multi-agency teams led by the NIA arrested several functionaries, including top leaders of the radical Islamic outfit, in simultaneous raids at multiple locations in 15 states in September for allegedly supporting terror activities in the country.

The officials then described the mega crackdown against the PFI as the “biggest investigative exercise ever”.
