RailTel bags order worth ₹170 crore for Puducherry Smart City project

New Delhi: RailTel Corporation of India Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Indian Railways, has received a work order 170.11 crore from Government of Puducherry for design, development, supply, installation, testing, commissioning and operation and maintenance of Integrated Command Control Center (ICCC) for Smart City and other allied activities.

The contract is for five years and will be completed in 10 months’ time. “RailTel has been selected through competitive bidding and is the first smart city project awarded by the Government of Puducherry,” the company said in a press release.

Other components of the project include data center disaster recovery, street parking management, intelligent traffic management system, development of an online/mobile platform to assist tourists and visitors, city level applications and smart dashboards, smart kiosks, smart poles with CCTV, Wi-Fi included.
