Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav inspected the improved facilities of upgraded toilets in trains.

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav inspected the better facilities of upgraded toilets. A video was shared by the official Twitter handle of the minister. Before and after repair of mirrors, wash basins and toilet seats inside the train have been captured in the clip. An officer is seen giving information about the work done to the minister. In the caption, Ashwini Vaishnav wrote, “Inspected the new upgraded toilet design for the existing coaches.”
Twitter users lauded the Indian Railways for giving the much-needed makeover to the train coaches. However, many highlighted the real challenge is keeping them clean “throughout the entire journey”.
“Definitely the most important upgrade to be done is in our train coaches. Thank you to all the staff who made this possible. Thank you sir,” wrote a user.

A section of users also raised some specific concerns. One of them said, “None of those soap dispensers will hold liquid, so air fresheners, if you observe them during the trip.”

Another said, “The problem is misuse/misbehavior by the passengers and there is no proper cleaning during the journey. Water scarcity is a common problem, toilets stink, gutka jeev is a problem of a different level. Don’t understand why consumption is allowed in public places.”

A few days ago, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav shared a video of the changed cleaning process of Vande Bharat Express trains. Tweeting the video, he wrote, “Cleaning arrangements have been changed for #VandeBharat trains. Your cooperation is expected.”
Like on flights, an employee goes throughout the coach with garbage collection bags and tells passengers to put garbage in the bags. The initiative has been taken in view of passengers complaining about litter, food packets and other garbage in the vestibule of the train.
